Departure location information: Tour departs from Schoenbrunn Palace's main gate (next to the entrance of ticket office). Your guide will be holding a RED sign that reads: "Palace and Garden Tour". Please be there a few minutes before the tour starts. Directions from subway: From Vienna State Opera station named "Karlsplatz/Opera" take subway line U4 direction: "Hütteldorf", get out at the Station "Schönbrunn" - this is just 6 stations away and takes about 9 minutes. Exit the platform to the west (the same direction of the train). You'll see the lifts and stairs, go up, then cross over the glass bridge and keep going straight on to a paved walkway. After a short distance, it hits a main road at a pedestrian crossing. Cross over the street and go right along the sidewalk until you reach the main gate of the palace grounds - two white stone columns with gold eagles on the top are marking the gate. Walking time from subway station to main gate is approx 10 minutes. Your tour guide will be waiting for you next to the gate and holding a red sign "Palace and Gardens Tour Tour will start at 2pm, please be there on time.
