Make the most of your adventure

What makes Uluru Aboriginal Art and Culture a unique experience ?

Travel to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you’ll be welcomed by your Indigenous guide and interpreter. Your guide is Anangu (pronounced arn-ung-oo) and is part of the Mutitjulu community, the traditional owners of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Your guide will speak to you in Pitjantjatjara during the tour, your interpreter will translate into English.

Enter the caves where the Mala (rufous hare-wallaby) people camped when they first arrived at Uluru and see the kitchen cave where they prepared their meals. They are the Anangu’s ancestors, and their story is one of the most important of the Tjukurpa (the foundation of Anangu culture).

You’ll see fine examples of rock art along the walk before arriving at this gorge, a place of profound peacefulness surrounded by sheer vertical walls.

Drive around Uluru and your guide will point out important Aboriginal landmarks of Uluru.

Join Maruku’s local Anangu artists for a fun introduction to the unique desert art form, dot painting. Be inspired as you learn about the symbols and painting styles used to create beautiful works of art.
