What makes Experience Trogir with a Local Guide a unique experience ?

We'll start at the North Gate - the main entrance into the town in the Medieval times. The town was fortified with the city walls and you couldn't enter the town wherever you wanted. We'll talk about the name of the town, who were the first settlers. We'll wander around beautiful narrow streets where you can feel the life continuing from the 3rd century BC. You'll hear the stories about life in Trogir nowadays and listen about its patron saint and why he has always been important to people here. Did you know that the bells played significant role in the life of the people in the past?! You'll find out why. We'll stop in front of the birth house of the Croatian nobleman Petar Berislavić, an important personality for the history of Croatia, not just Trogir

Do you know that the museum was once noble palace? It hides interesting stories from Trogir's history and plays an important role of the social life nowadays.

Do you know that the fortress should've been the shelter for the town's rector in the time of the Ottoman invasions? Today the fortress is the place to go if you want to experience summer concerts in Trogir and enjoy good music in the spectacular setting of this gem. It was once called the fort of chains and you'll hear why. We'll visit the fortress from the outside, but the entrance is optional.

Do you know that Trogir has a football field in the area which is protected by UNESCO? There are not so many such football fields in the world. From here we will also see a gloriette dedicated to the French rule and the tower of St Mark.

The promenade is the centre of everyday life in the town. Both tourists and locals love spending time here: relaxing, having coffee, enjoying the time well-spent in this Dalmatian gem.

The south gate still has the original doors which would close in the evening. Next to the gate is Small lodge where you could find shelter during the night. This is perfect setting for your pictures as the gate makes the perfect picture frame for your photos and colours change depending on the part of the day. Behind the gate is the church and the Benedictine Monastery of St Nicholas which hides the story about Trogir as the town of the happy moment.

The square houses all the most important buildings - the court, the Rector's Palace, the noble palaces and the cathedral. You'll hear stories about Venetian lions, about trials, the theatre which was once in the heart of Trogir, rich people of the past and so much more.

The Cathedral is the main attraction in the town, the most important building in the past, but not less important today. You'll see beautiful Radovan's portal and magnificent belltower. You'll hear about the drawing on the wall of the cathedral which still amazes people even today. The cathedral is something you can't miss. We'll stand in front of it, but the entrance is optional. If you decide to go in, you can visit beautiful chapel of St John, as well as Baptistery and climb the belltower with a stunning view of the town.
