Our first stop will be the Ujarma fortress. It's believed then in the second half of the 5th century, famous Vakhtang Gorgasali (founder of Tbilisi) erected numerous buildings in Ujarma and moved his residence there. After Vakhtang’s death, his heir Dachi was ruling Kakheti for some period from here. In the 10th century, Ujarma was destroyed by the Arabian forces of Abul Kassim. In the 13th century, the fortress was restored by King George III, where he arranged treasury.

Our tour continued through the Gombori Pass. We drive to an altitude of 1,650 meters (5414 feet). Here at the top is an observation deck, the best place for a photoshoot. After a small stop, we will continue our journey through the magical forest, where you can make a wish!

The next stop will be Alaverdi Monastery. The monastery was founded by the Assyrian monk Joseph (Yosef, Amba) Alaverdeli, who came from Antioch and settled in Alaverdi, then a small village and former pagan religious center dedicated to the Moon. At a height of over 55 meters, Alaverdi Cathedral is the second tallest religious building in Georgia, after Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, which was consecrated in 2004.

Monument to Irakli II, king of the Kartli-Kakhetian state

We will also visit the city of Telavi - the main city and administrative center of Georgia's eastern province of Kakheti.

Beautiful views of the Alazani valley opens from here.

On the way to Kvareli, we stop at the Gremi. Standing above the green valley of Alazan, Gremi attracts travelers whose road goes between Telavi and Kvareli. Gloomy and monumental, the castle is one of the most visited tourist points in Georgia The architectural ensemble of Gremi in the look that it has up to present day was built in the 16th century in the times of King Levan of Kakheti, who announced Gremi the capital of the Kingdom of Kakheti.

In Kvareli, you can taste Georgian wines, find out how they are made.

We are going to the Bodbe Monastery. It is one of the most important religious sites in Georgia. Today, there is a nunnery where the monastery used to be, and the St. George Cathedral, part of the monastery, holds the remains of St. Nino, Equal to the Apostles, who brought Christianity to Georgia. There is also a new cathedral being built, using much of the same construction methods used to make the most famous cathedrals in Georgia centuries ago.

We continue our trip. Sighnaghi is endowed with significant historic and cultural heritage sites. Its charming cobblestone streets and alleys restored original nouveau woodwork, and detailed facades give the town a romantic mystique. Billed the City of Love, Sighnaghi is a popular wedding venue. The wedding chapel here was the first to operate around the clock and put Sighnaghi on the map as a destination. Its marriage chapel now hosts ceremonies taking place all hours of the day and night.
