What makes Small-Group Shanghai's Suzhou Creek Walking Exploration a unique experience ?

You will meet with our Tour Leader and other guests at the meeting point. After a little introduction, the walk will start!

Your first stop will be one of the most impressive buildings in town: the Sihang Warehouse. It is a former warehouse built in 1935 with a wall full of bullet holes. Our Tour Leader will explain to you what happened here and tell you all the secrets behind this building.

You will then go on the bridge near the warehouse to enjoy an overview on the building and listen to the story of the former British concession of Shanghai.

After walking along the river for a few meters, you will reach one of the iconic bridges on the Suzhou Creek: the Zhejiang Road Bridge. Here, our Tour Leader will tell you the history of this bridge and cool stories about road names and bridge names in Old Shanghai.

After crossing the bridge, you will arrive in a neighborhood of typical Shanghainese architecture houses, the “shikumen”. Our Tour Leader will explain to you what are the “shikumen” houses and their history.

You will then pass by the Former Chamber of Commerce. This outstanding building is a testimony of Shanghai’s past, and our Tour Leader will share with you many historical anecdotes there.

Next door, you will learn everything about the Former General Post Office Building, once known as the "First Hall of the Far East".

It will be then time to have a view on the modern Shanghai! We will stop on Zhapu Road Bridge, the best spot to take a picture of the towers of Pudong.
