SF-88 is a former Nike Missile launch site in the Marin Headlands. It was built to protect San Francisco Bay Area during the Cold War, specifically from attack by Soviet bomber aircraft.

It was established for rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing marine mammals who are injured, ill, or abandoned.

Walk to the Lighthouse and take unforgettable photos. Point Bonita Lighthouse was built in 1955 and helped ships pass treacherous Golden Gate straight. Discover Point Bonita's wild landscape, geology, and history by hiking a steep half-mile trail.

Fort Baker is one of the components of California's Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Fort, which borders the City of Sausalito in Marin County and is connected to SF by the Golden Gate Bridge, served as an Army post until the mid-1990s. Many of the military-built buildings still stand, and current institutions in the area include Coast Guard Station Golden Gate, a motor lifeboat station, the Travis Marina and Presidio Yacht Club, and the Bay Area Discovery Museum.
