Trajan's Forum was ordered to be built by the Emperor Trajan and was the last Imperial Forum constructed in Ancient Rome. A number of columns have been re-erected and it's possible to see Trajan's column which remains.

The Forum of Augustus was built in celebration of Emperor Augustus' victory over the murder of Caesar in 42 BC. This ancient site is dominated by the remains of the Temple of Mars.

This was the fourth and smallest of the imperial fora. Its construction was started by Domitian, but it was dedicated by Nerva in A.D. 97 after Domitian's assassination.

The Forum of Cesar is a forum or plaza built by Julius Caesar in 46 BC. It was a place for public business that was related to the Senate.

The Roman Forum, also known as the Forum Romanum is a rectangular plaza surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings at the center of Rome.

Basilica Aemilia was a public building in the Roman Forum, mainly a place for business and meetings. The building was also used for money lending. Politicians and tax collectors gathered here for their business.

Curia Julia was the building of the Roman Senate, where the Emperors and Senators met to discuss important affairs.

The House of Vestals was the residence of the Vestal virgins. It was a simple building at the foot of the Palatine Hill.

The Basilica of Maxentius dominates the ruins and at the time, it was the largest building in Rome. It was built by the Emperor Maxentius and was completed in 312 AD.

The Temple of Romulus was turned from a building into a temple for the Emperor Maxentius' son and you can see several paintings from the middle of the 13th Century decorating the wall.

The Arch of Titus is located on Via Sacra, to the south-east of the Roman Forum. It was constructed in c. AD 82 by the Emperor Domitian shortly after the death of his older brother Titus to commemorate Titus's victories.

Located 40 meters above the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill is the most central of the seven hills of Rome and forms one of the oldest parts of the city.
