This private tour explores the best of West Iceland. The Snæfellsnes peninsula has some of Iceland’s best sights, with the beauty and mystique inspiring world famous novels, enchanting visitors every day. This is a one day trip that you will not forget. We start the day departing from Reykjavik on the ring road heading north. As we get closer to Snæfellsnes, we will start to notice a change in the scenery, with everything becoming more dramatic. We will start to pass through enormous lava fields, mountains that seem to rise from the ocean, charming fishing villages and endless bays and beaches. Included is a delicious lunch at one of our favourite local restaurants. This private tour was previously run as a small group tour but is now only available for private parties of up to 12. Sellvallafoss, overlooking the Sellvallavatn lake, is one of the more hidden spots along the way, despite being so close to the mountain road. It is obscured by the contours of the land, down an unmarked route. The short walk is well worth seeing this uniquely shaped waterfall. It's nickname, the sheep's waterfall is so named due to free-roaming sheep often hiding behind the falls on a summer's day.

WHAT TO BRING • Waterproof jacket because even on warm days it’s best to stay dry at all times. • Layers of clothing, we often get all 4 seasons in one day. • Camera with a fully charged battery as there will be ample time to take lots of pictures. • Lunch is included (one main per person) and we do make stops to allow you to stock up on some snacks and drinks along the way. PICKUP & DROP-OFF • Please inform us of where you are staying in Reykjavik. New restrictions within Reykjavik means buses have to pick up from designated points. We cannot pickup from AirBnB addresses. We will inform you of the nearest pick up point if you tell us where you are staying. • Pick up time for the Snæfellsnes Peninsula Tour is at 8:30 am. There may be other people being picked up from different locations in Reykjavik though, so if we are a little past 8:30 am then don’t worry, we’re on our way. • Drop off time: We aim to be back at your drop off point around 8pm, but many things can affect that time so please don’t worry if we are a little late returning. It’s either for safety reasons or to give you the best experience. • Check the pickup information page on our website for more info on the pickup locations.
