It has some 2,743 or 2,748 meters above sea level, according to the sources.1​2​3​4​ The Los Zaballos and Los Antiguos rivers are born from its slopes, both tributaries of Lake Buenos Aires/General Carrera. As well as the Pinturas River, a tributary of the Deseado River. Reddish in color, it gives its name to a section of Provincial Route 41, which is characterized by its landscape due to volcanic activity.
