A stone one-arch bridge of small dimension that closely resembles the Stari Most. The arch is a perfect semicircle 8.56m in width and 4.15m in height. Turkish architect Ćejvan Ketoda built this bridge in 1558. What is interesting is that they made the bridge in order to test structure and building methods to construct its larger version - famous Old Bridge.

Spanish Square is one of the main spots the city. The name was given in 1995 in honor of 21 killed Spanish troops at UNPROFOR in the last war. The main building that is dominating the Spanish square is one called Stara Gimnazija (Old Gymnasium). The construction of this beautiful building was finished in 1902, and it was one of the oldest schools in ex Yugoslavia. For a long time, it carried a name after a most famous poet– Aleksa Šantić. This building was built in Moorish Revival architectural style also known as Neo-Moorish style.Today, it is also listed as one of the national monuments.

The Tower of Halebija is on the right bank of the Neretva next to the Old Bridge. There was a prison on the ground floor from 1716, whilst the floors above served as guard-houses for the accommodation of the garrison. The Tower of Tara is on the left side of the Old Bridge. It was built in a semi-circular shape with its flat side turned towards the Bridge. The walls are more than 3 meters thick. It served as a store house for gun-powder and ammunition until the Austro-Hungarian occupation in 1878.

Today's old part of the town on the left bank of the Neretva, was called Kujundžiluk after the numerous coppersmiths „Kujundžije“. There were many tailors, but the most numerous artisans were tanners, great masters for processing leather. Nowadays, Kujundziluk is an area of small artisan workshops and fascinating handicrafts.

When the Turks invaded Mostar, there was a wooden bridge at the place of today's Old Bridge; it hung on chains, over which one had to pass very cautiously. As it became worn out in the middle of the 16th century, the people of Mostar asked authorities in Istanbul to build a new bridge from quality material. It was designed by the builder Hajrudin, pupil of the famous Sinan, the great Turkish architect of the 16th century. The Old Bridge was completed and and put into service in July or August 1566. Its span is 28,70 meters and it has only one big stone arch. It is 4,49 m wide, while the height from the summer water level is 21 m. The bridge was built of square stones connected with iron hooks and cast in lead. Every passer-by stops here to admire this masterpiece. Mostar is known for its bridge all over the Europe and the world. The central part of the old town, with its forts, towers and gates, developed around this magnificent monument producing a unique architectural whole.

This lies on the right side of the Neretva river, and it was built before 1600. A rivulet from the river Radobolja flows under the mosque, and it joins the Neretva to the south of the Old Bridge. Thus the Imam was always on the mainland during prayer while the believers were on the water.

Square shaped mosque and covered by a dome. Its minaret is only few meters from the bank of the Neretva. The fountain „šadrvan“ in front of the Mosque was set under six stone columns, connected with arches, and covered with stone tiles.

The main Mostar market place has been called for centuries „Tepa“, and it is situated in the vicinity of Kujundziluk Street. Here you can find various handicrafts and food specialties (for example, cheese), fresh vegetables and fruits.
