What makes Private Full-Day Walking Tour of Jerusalem a unique experience ?
We decrypt this eventful place, from the construction of the ramparts in the 16th century to the breach in the wall 100 years ago and the current affair of the Jaffa Gate Hostels
From Jaffa Gate, we walk down to the "Kotel", the holiest place for Judaism, close to where the 2nd Temple used to stand before being destroyed by the Romans.
We walk up to the Temple Mount compound, which includes the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock. This is the most sacred place for Jews and the 3rd most sacred for Muslims.
From the north of the Temple Mount, we walk the path followed by Jesus from his condemnation to his crucifixion, including the first 9 stations. Then we have a lunch break nearby.
The place where, according to tradition, Jesus was crucified. It includes the last 5 stations of the Via Dolorosa, the Edicule, Stone of Onction, etc.
Coming to the Jewish Quarter, we time travel from the arrival of Ramban 900 years ago to the destruction and then the revival of the Jewish Quarter during the 20th century.
A highlight of the Jewish Quarter with a beautiful viewpoint and archeological remains. Entry to the Hurva Synagogue is 14NIS for adults (when accompagnied by a guide). We will then discover the story and some secrets of the synagogue.
We leave the Jewish Quarter through Zion gate, a memorial to the fights that took place here during the War of Independance in 1948. And then we follow the ramparts back to Jaffa Gate where the tour terminates.
