San Gimignano is renowned for its saffron, the "Golden Ham," and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient Vernaccia grape variety cultivated on the surrounding sandstone hills. For a breathtaking view of the Tuscan hills, consider climbing the Torre Grossa, the tallest tower in the city.
