Meet your guide a short walk from one of Florence’s top museums, the Accademia Gallery. Your skip-the-line tickets ensure immediate entry, straight to see Michelangelo’s “David before the crowds arrive.

After the museums you'll be guided around the back streets of Florence, like a local, to see the oldest part of the city and its medieval town houses.

Next, it’s the Piazza Duomo to witness the wonderful Cathedral and its perfectly preserved and unique marble engravings.  Towering above you is Brunelleschi’s Dome; the ultimate symbol of Renaissance Florence, famous for its ahead of its time design and challenging realization. The Piazza Duomo bustling with interesting things, but you won’t miss Giotto’s bell tower, a superb example of 1300 architecture, and the splendid Porta del Paradiso of the Baptistery.

From there, it’s a short walk to the famous Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest and best known bridge. Your guide will tell you the intriguing history of the bridge from its beginning in the fourteenth century, and how the construction of the Vasari Corridor vastly changed the shops (botteghe) that line the bridge. The bridge also offers magnificent views of the hills that surround the city.

It is then on to the political centre of Florence, the Piazza della Signoria. Dominating one side of the square are the Uffizi, formerly the offices of the Grand Dukes of the city, and the former seat of the government of Florence. On the other side of the square is the Palazzo Vecchio.

The tour ends in Piazza Santa Croce, in front of the famous church.
