What makes PRIVATE Aalto's Legacy 6 Hour Guided Walking Tour a unique experience ?

The tour starts at 10 AM from the Aalto2 Museum Centre, where our guide will greet you, briefly introduce the day's program, and provide tickets to enter the museum. You'll have an hour to explore the museum of your own.

We'll reconvene at the café at 11 AM. You can grab some snacks if you are hungry or want some refreshments.

We'll embark on a guided walk of about 2 kilometres to the Jyväskylä University Campus area and the main building. You will be able to see many of Alvar Aalto's buildings. Our guide tells you about the architecture. We will visit the main building inside.

In alignment with our commitment to sustainability, we'll venture next to Säynätsalo via a 35-minute local bus journey, blending seamlessly into the local way of life.

Once we arrive on Säyntsalo island, we'll have a buffet lunch at Restaurant Juurikkasaari, located on a small island within walking distance of the bus stop.

After lunch, a guide will walk you on a one-kilometre beautiful urban nature walk to the Säynätsalo Town Hall for a 45-minute guided tour. Säynätsalo Town Hall is one of the most important buildings designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. The building has a solid connection to the surrounding nature and the community. At the end of the '40s, the project was a considerable effort from a small municipality of Säynätsalo: a 3000-inhabitants, three relatively small islands, but industrialized village.

Afterwards, you can indulge in delicious pastries at the Café & Bakery.

The tour ends around 3.15 PM. We'll provide a return bus ticket to Jyväskylä Centre.
