When we are in Tenorio National Park we will walk to the waterfall, meanwhile in the way is possible to find awesome wildlife in there. After that we are gonna have a delicious typical lunch and dessert.

Wildlife Nature Hike, Blue Waterfall, Lunch & Sloth Trail - Tenorio Volcano Park


As we hike through the rainforest and along the Celeste River, you will observe one of nature's most beautiful phenomenons that can only be seen in a few places in the world; a freshwater river joins a volcanic-mineral river, creating an astounding shock of turquoise color in the water.

After admiring the beautiful waterfall, which is one of Costa Rica's most unique hidden gems, we will continue the hike towards the Teñideros sector, where we will have an amazing view of the Tenorio Volcano & Cerro Montezuma. As we can't swim in the national park protected areas, we will take you to a local natural pool within the Celeste river where you will be able to swim in the turquoise waters. After our swim, we will visit a famous hidden gem locally called Arbol de la Paz, it's over 150ft tall "Ceiba Pentandra tree". A typical Costa Rican lunch will be waiting for us after; on our way back we have a surprise stop to admire some extra local fauna.

Rio Celeste Waterfall Hike and Swimming at the River 9 people max


• The dazzling centrepiece of the Tenorio Volcano National Park, the Rio Celeste is most famous for its shockingly bright blue color, the result of a natural reaction of volcanic sulfur and calcium carbonate, which turns the clear waters a powder-blue shade. Reached by hiking through the surrounding rainforest, there are a number of sights of interest located along the Rio Celeste, most notably the Rio Celeste Waterfall, a favorite photo spot where the river tumbles into a striking blue lagoon; the Tenideros, where two rivers merge in the Celeste; and the Poza Azul, the most renowned "dye pool," where the reaction is most noticeable.

The river’s startling color change is best viewed during the dry season (December to April), as excess rainfall can dilute the reactive chemicals leaving the waters with a less-appealing muddy hue.Four-in-one adventure in Costa Rica

Rio Celeste Hike


On clear days it's possible to get spectacular views. Rio Celeste is located in one of the most beautifulareas of Costa Rica. Getting there from La FortunaArea takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes.On arriving atthe park we set off on a 7km (approximately 4 miles)hike which passes by the River Celeste Waterfall, Tenorio Look out point, Blue Lagoon, a greatplace for taking pictures,Borbollones (little geisers)and finally we arrive at Teñideros where mother naturemagically mixes the water of two crystal clear streams,changing the water's color to a beautiful bright, light blue (hence the name "Rio Celeste" or Light-Blue River).

After visiting the most beautiful places of this park there is a tough hike back to the park entrance where we have served a delicious, well- deserved lunch.
