Noordhoek Beach is 9 km long and is the most unspoiled and best protected on the Atlantic Cape coast. It stretches between Chapman’s peak rising out of the sea, and Kommetjie lighthouse. The protected wetlands, along the beach, have kept it free of urban sprawl.

Jubilee Square is right in the middle of Simons Town. We stop here and look out over the jetty, harbour, and False Bay. We will also meet Just Nuisance here.

We stop and see how a shark spotter spends his day. Shark Spotters is a non-profit and public benefit organisation providing a vital public service. It has attracted international attention through the novel way it proactively reduces conflict between surfers and white sharks.

As we leave Chapmans Peak Drive will stop at the water's edge in Hout Bay to enjoy one of Cape Town’s most beloved sculptures, the bronze leopard of Hout Bay. This beautiful artwork should be on everyone's Cape Town bucket list.

Hout Bay, or the Republic of Hout Bay, as it's often called locally is a beautiful but busy fishing harbour.
