Vajdahunyad Castle, situated on Széchenyi Island in the City Park, is one of the most characteristic and exciting landmarks of the city with countless features to be explored, a favourite target for hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. The castle served as a filming location for the mystical world of The Witcher. The directors used a castle as a wizard Stregobor’s courtyard of the house.

Lined with spectacular Neo-renaissance mansions and townhouses featuring fine facades and interiors, it was recognised as a World Heritage Site in 2002. It is also one of Budapest's main shopping streets, with fine cafes, restaurants, theatres, embassies and luxury boutiques. The State Opera House, the Zoltán Kodály Memorial Museum and Archives, the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and the Ferenc Hopp Museum of East Asian Arts are among the most noticeable buildings.
