Why choose this tour ?
I will show my guests the monuments at the Kossuth and Liberty Square. My task and mission is to tell you the most interesting and somewhat shocking stories behind them. We will walk among the most wonderful buildings from the end of the 19th century, and I will also speak about them. We will visit the famous Shoes at the bank of the river Danube. The tour is unique because the guests will learn more about the background of the monuments surrounding the Hungarian parliament, and they will be informed how history is rewritten after some changes in the political system. The guests will be informed about the fate of the Hungarian Jews toward the end of WWII.

What makes How was the past changed, Tour in Budapest Downtown a unique experience ?
We will walk along the building: Travelers will see its beauty and hear the history of its construction. A lot of stories that happened there and around.
Travelers will get acquainted with the present state of the square and with its historical background: why was the square reconstructed in a way that means the wheels of history roll back until 1944.
This square is a real Disneyland of the history of Hungary. Travelers will see the bust of Governor Horthy, the much disputed monument of the German occupation of 1944 which was never inaugurated just put there, statues of 2 US presidents, the last remaining monuments of the soldiers of the Red Army of the Soviet Union who died during the liberation of Budapest in 1944-45.
This will be the end of the tour. On the way there travelers will see the street of antiques of Budapest (street Falk Miksa). At the end of the street they will meet the statue of Peter Falk (Columbo). The politician Miksa Falk and the famous actor could be relatives. When travelers reach the monument to Imre Nagy, leader of the 1956 revolution against the Stalinist regime, first they will see the office building of the deputees of the Hungarian Parliament. Until 1990 that was the headquarter of the Communist Party.
