It was at this site that the opening shots of the Battles of Lexington and Concord were fired on April 19, 1775, starting the American Revolutionary War. Now a public park, the common is a National Historic Landmark.
The Hancock–Clarke House is a historic house in Lexington, Massachusetts, that is a National Historic Landmark. The only extant residence associated with John Hancock was his boyhood home.
The site of the capture of Paul Revere is inside Minute Man National Historic Park, near the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Mill Street. A circular memorial marks the site, with three commemorative markers - one of unknown origin, with two National Park Service markers flanking it.
Minute Man National Historical Park commemorates the opening battle in the American Revolutionary War. It also includes the Wayside, home in turn to three noted American authors.
There were at least eight iterations of the North Bridge constructed over four centuries. The current wooden pedestrian bridge, an approximate replica of the bridge that stood at the time of the battle, was built in 1956 and extensively restored in 2005.
