Our cooking class will make the authentic Greek Moussaka dish and Spanakopita pie by opening your phyllo pastry (Spinach pie).
We will make two classic traditional pies: Spinach pie and Milk pie. In addition to making homemade pies, we will prepare Greek island-inspired salad with cherry tomatoes aromatized with aged local vinegar and Greek yogurt tzatziki sauce.
Our kitchen is a few steps from Monastiraki square in the funky neighborhood of Psirri. I'll wait for you there, on the rooftop terrace with Acropolis views.
We'll start preparations and chat to break the ice and talk about Greek and Mediterranean cuisine; then, I'll show you the ingredients we'll need.

Start with the Acropolis site, a complex of buildings that includes the Parthenon, Erectheion (the temple with the 6 female figurers, Karyatides), Temple of Athena Nike (Wingless Godess), Propylaia (the monumental Gate), Odeon of Herodus Atticus, Dionysus theater & the Mars Hill or Areios Pagos
Next stop will be the Temple Of the Olympian Zeus, the Panathenian Stadium (the stadium of the first Olympic Games on 1896), the memorial of the Unknown soldier & the changing of the Guards (Euzones) in front of the Greek Parliament, opposite the Syntagma or Constitutional square.
We will also drive through Plaka (the oldest neighborhood in Athens) & Monastiraki (Flea Market)
After that let’s see the Trilogy of Athens (the Academy of Science, the First University of Athens and the National Greek Library) & the Lycabettus Hill (the highest point of Athens), where the view is breathtaking.

After your pick -up from your location, we will enter the old alleys of Plaka, passing by the Lysicrates Monument, Tripodon street, old taverns, and well-known residences. We will walk next to the Rizokastro wall, climbing the stairs of the Anafiotika neighborhood to admire a panoramic view of Athens, and we will pass by the old University heading towards Monastiraki. Step by step, Plaka will lose its touristic edge and, despite its bustling streets, it will soon begin to feel like home.
With this tour, we will attempt to go beyond the façade, delving into the human aspect of this community, which has remained vibrant for centuries and has inspired numerous Greek and foreign artists.
Accompanied by the echo of the old “laternas” or the cantatas that, once upon a time, used to be performed in these streets, we will recount stories of love and betrayal.Our tour will finish at around 19:00(low season) and 21:00(high season) and your guide will accompany you to your location.
